Flow simulations in acoustics

In the field of acoustics one of the major outputs of CFD simulations is the analysis of noise generation and, more importantly, its prevention. In this context we have carried out projects in different branches in order to analyze and prevent noise generation.
Noise sources can be found and analyzed through numerical flow simualtions. Our acoustic calculations so far have been focusing on sound generation, sound optimization and sound prevention. Furthermore sound pressure with regards to sound pressure level and frequency has been analyzed.

Our skilled CFD engineers have expert knowledge in the automotive field like simlulations of engine flows, the aeroacoustic impact of a side mirror on the inside interior or the acoustic development of turbo engines. Successful projects focused on noise reduction were concerned with outlets and the optimization of the cutting geometry of a lawnmover. A current research topic is the aeroacoustic of wind engines.
