BST´s expertise in CFD provided data to clarify whether such a risky stunt could even be realized and to determine how sensitive the aircraft responds to certain parameters. Furthermore, BST’s Riblets served as an important safety aspect in the Tunnel Pass Project. The Riblet surfaces were used to absorb and compensate ground-level turbulences in the air. The special structure of the Riblets and the tailor-made rudder tips increased the stability of the entire aircraft.
